Sergey Safonov – Moon Cat

Russian artist Sergey Safonov has just revealed the second figure in his Moon Wanderers mini series – Moon Cat. As with the first figure, Moon Fox, this one was designed by Safonov and the sculpted with Crazylabel's prototyping and development office. As with the Moon Foxes, Sergey will produce a limited-run of the Moon Cats from his home studio during the year. Cool. Be sure to keep an eye on his flickr for more pics.

With OriginalFake’s 3 year anniversary this year, honeyee (Google Translate) interview the man behind the brand and massively popular artist KAWS regarding this year’s focus and approach. The short interview includes talks on Bape’s inclusion in his products, upcoming exhibitions at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in 2010 as well as the personal importance of displaying more art in a public medium. Aside from the recently seen A Bathing Ape x OriginalFake t-shirts, three styles of Levi’s denim will also release in 5-pocket Narrow (Navy Teeth), 5-pocket Straight (Green Teeth) and Cargo styles (Red Teeth). The shirts release on May 3rd while the denim will be slated for a late May release.

BLOWN FABRIC BY NENDO

Blown Fabric” is collection of lamps designed by Nendo. They used the material Smash, a long-fibre non-woven polyester, which you can shape in almost any form when heated. The production technique is very similar to blown glass. That’s why they’ve used LED bulbs to make sure that the lampshades don’t collapse.

This will be on display during the Milan furniture fair at the Tokyo Fiber ‘09 Senseware exhibition.

Ransom for adidas

Images of a release from Ransom for adidas surfaced over the last few weeks, but another offering has popped up and here is a look at it now. As you saw before, the other style had some classic hiking boot inspiration, but this one takes a much different, yet equally as nice, approach. This shoe has sort of a high top chukka feel featuring blue suede monotone upper that pops nicely with the white contrasting stitching and sole.

Vans Japan has released a premium pack of goatskin Sk8 Hi’s. The pack consists of three colorways of the classic high top sneaker, with all three coming in tonal colorways, featuring nice quality leather logo tags on the tongue.

NIKE DUNK x NYLON MAGAZINE

Nylon produced a nice video feature, giving you a behind the scenes look of the photoshoot. Check that out here.

The pack overall consists of five fluorescent colorways of the Dunk Hi, all featuring a nylon/leather upper, coming in tonal colors. As flashy the colors are, they kept the rest of the sneaker simple and tonal, which works out really nice. The Nylon font logo goes over the entire sneaker, but one has to look close to even notice it. The Swoosh and other details come in leather and the laces, as well as lining also match the upper colors. A multicolor Nylon logo has been placed on the tongue tag.
