Vane NYC Concept Store

Until I discovered streetwear brand Vane's Concept Store, searching for that perfect winter boot seemed like an impossible task. After months of searching, I was beginning to feel like Little Red Riding Hood. Some were too big, other too ugly, too poorly made, too expensive or too fat-looking. And, the absolute worst, several pairs were too uncomfortable.

Where was that perfect mix of functionality and style? Where was the boot that looked great, lasted forever and didn't leave behind blisters? I had just about given up when I took a trip to the Lower East Side to check out the temporary shop that Vane set up.

Designed by artist 18971 in collaboration with Vane, the low lighting and shiny metal lend the store a futuristic feel. The storefront itself looks like a militaristic space station. Unfortunately, the lighting doesn't help much for checking out details of the product, but the kind staff will step in to point a light so you can see how those boots really look.

Housing one of the best selections of boots for men and women, there's plenty to browse at Vane and I found just what I was hunting for there. Whether it's the Cat Legendary Raw Collection, the Wolverine 1000 Mile Collection or the collaboration betweenSebago and Vane themselves, they carry everything from durably beautiful classics to modern interpretations of boat shoes. And if they don't have your size, again the helpful fellows manning shop will happily track them down. If you're in the market for those boots that are "just right," this is the spot.
