Blankie release party Oct 1st!

Takashi Murakami Kaikai Kiki Toy Collection





Kaikai Kiki, the art production company from Takashi Murakami, releases a new collection of toys, most consisting of the stuffed variety, along with a couple of puppets. Featured amongst these is a “Kiki” puppet, “Mr. Dob” stuffed toy, “Kaikai” puppet, and “Frazzled” stuffed toy. All play of Murakami’s characters featured within his renowned superflat paintings. These new releases are now available through colette.

Karo Garo – Wamen @ SDCC




First previewed at last year’s SDCC, Japanese artist Karo Garo’s Wamen resin will be released at this year’s comic-con. This Bonsai tree come-to-life features a removable tree and drainage hole so that it can be used as a functional planter as well as an art toy. Limited to 32 hand-painted resin pieces, each numbered piece were available for a very reasonable $49 in Cardboard Spaceship’s booth.

Patricio Oliver x Raje Toys – Beast Rider WIP



Raje Toys has released in-progress pics of their upcoming Beast Rider (tentative name?) figures from Patricio Oliver. The pics appear to be digital renders of the intended sculpt. As you can see, the Riders are currently AWOL. The Beasts look like they will feature quite a bit of detail – dig the raised deco elements (skull etc). Based on previous news from Patricio, we expect there to be Fire and Ice versions.

Blankie's Come To Town: THE MOVIE!

Our friends Gabe, Talia and Hilena from Digital Soul happened to stop by the studio the day the color samples for Blankie (our first community based toy project) arrived.

They were so inspired that they decided to create a short stop-motion animation film about the arrival!

Bounty Hunter Skull Kun Keychain Pouch


Playing off its Skull Kun character, pioneer Japanese streetwear brand Bounty Hunter create this new keychain pouch. Using Skull Kun’s head, the pouch features embroidered detailing along with a back zipper, making room for just about anything, including cigarettes. Look for the pouch soon via Bounty Hunter.

MEDICOM TOY Exhibition 2010 “Like A Chess” 400% BEARBRICK


Beyond the usual use of plastics in its construction, MEDICOM TOY BEARBRICKS constructed of wood have come to represent some of the BEARBRICK line’s most sought after release. Another addition to the small but well-documented line of wood-based BEARBRICKS is this “Like A Chess” version slated for release on July 3rd, 2010 during the MEDICOM TOY Exhibition 2010. The BEARBRICK features a chessboard pattern alternating between light and dark squares.

HEADQUARTER x SEHER x MEDICOM TOY BEARBRICK 100% & 400%



To kick off the month of May, MEDICOM TOY will release this upcoming BEARBRICK involving HEADQUARTER x SEHER. The two-pack includes a 100% and 400% version each with their own distinct aesthetic. The overall aesthetic teeters on the gory side of things with some interesting graphics courtesy of the Mexican urban artist, SEHER. The BEARBRICK was created to commemorate HEADQUARTER’s 5th anniversary. The HEADQUARTER x SEHER MEDICOM TOY BEARBRICK will release on May 1st at select retailers including Project 1/6.
