Origami tea bags
We've seen tea bags take on some very interesting forms, like the artistic Origami tea bags or even the Royalty tea bags. The ones here though, appear to be a lot more fashion conscious, as they prefer to be in a T-shirt packaging. This Tea-Shirt packaging concept puts a hanger on top of the bags to perfectly fit a cup. The design has been created by Soon Mo Kang.

Itokin Park x Amanda Visell – Bed Monster
It’s been about six months since we first mentioned Bed Monster, a collaborative resin project from Amanda Visell and Itokin Park (Kazuhiko Ito). As you can see from the unpainted proto shots above, things are rolling along and the final piece should be nothing short of amazing. Kazuhiko has taken the basic concept of a child and his Bed Monster and turned it up several whimsical notches with the inclusion of a toy room full of accessories including a mini Dragon Scout, mini phunt, mini grenade (based on Michelle Valigura’s grenade plushes), a teddy bear, and cozy slippers.
From the beginning this project has always felt like a ‘hit’ given Amanda and Kazuhiko’s complimentary styles, popularity, and Kazuhiko’s considerable sculpting ability and attention to detail (check out the teeth on the mini Dragon Scout). That’s clearly the case with this latest project update and how. Please note that the details in blue are placeholder stickers to be replaced with painted deco for the final product. No word on a drop date yet, but these pics make the wait easier or is that more agonizing ?

Estevan Oriol provides three new t-shirts to Upper Playground’s January releases, featuring the beautiful and tough women that Oriol often portrays in his work. Straight Shooter and Gun Girl feature women who are ready and armed, while Angel captures a sensual moment. 123KLAN – Megastar Available Now
Artoyz Originals has just released Megastar (edition of 200), the first of 123KLAN's new Fellastar/Megastar (6.3”) original vinyl figures. Rocking a machine gun guitar, and Bboy cap, the purple tinged Megastar is available exclusively from Artoyz for 59.50 euros (~$ 86). Scien and Klor’s creation will also be released in two other Fellastar editions – regular (700 pcs) and a 123Klan edition (200 pcs).

Kaws x Wonderwall Vinyl Figure
Kaws latest vinyl figure sees the renowned artist align with Masamichi Katayam and his architecture firm Wonderwall. The toy, based on a previously released t-shirt, comes in two versions – black/grey/yellow and red/grey/black – and measures in at 22cm tall. Look for these to drop sometime in February 2010.

Phone powered off soda pop?
How nice would that be if you’re at a party and your phone is dying. Rather than spend all night chasing your tail and wandering around like a bumbling idiot, you head over to that keg of Sierra Nevada and fill up your phone and PRESTO, your back in action texting your way to a late night booty call. Well check this little Nokia phone concept out.
Chinese designer Daizi Zheng has created a conceptual mobile phone for Finnish brand Nokia that could be powered by sugary drinks.
Zheng proposes that the phone could run on a battery that uses enzymes to generate electricity from carbohydrates.

Eco-friendly phone for Nokia
This is a client project for designing an eco friendly phone for Nokia. Through out my research, I found that phone battery as a power source, it is expensive, consuming valuable resources on manufacturing, presenting a disposal problem and harmful to the environment.
The concept is using bio battery to replace the traditional battery to create a pollution free environment.
Bio battery is an ecologically friendly energy generates electricity from carbohydrates (currently sugar) and utilizes enzymes as the catalyst.
By using bio battery as the power source of the phone, it only needs a pack of sugary drink and it generates water and oxygen while the battery dies out.
Bio battery has the potential to operate three to four times longer on a single charge than conventional lithium batteries and it could be fully biodegradable.
Meanwhile, it brings a whole new perception to batteries and afternoon tea.

For those of you with five minutes of spare time looking to do a little something interesting for your next Facebook or MySpace profile pic, then this might be just the ticket. This tool called the ASCII-O-Matic transforms your little picture into a series of type characters. There are even a couple minor adjustments you can make to customize your output file.
The weirdest part is resizing your photo. You need to be at 60 by 50 pixels. This will make pretty much any pic you use look blurry, but don’t worry, this is normal. Just upload the pic and presto, you have a matrix looking version ready to go.
The site also offers the ability to take the html code off your end result, but to be honest, I took the easy route and just captured a screenshot.

Kaijin – Cyborg 009 Figures
Japanese artist Kaijin has reinterpreted Shotaro Ishinomori’s Cyborg 009 manga/anime for a series of new figures produced by Furyu. It appears Kaijin has blended his personal art style with the original source material for a cuter yet intrepid look. This approach bridges the sometimes large gap between toys based on entertainment properties and art toys. These are both Kaijin and 009 at the same time.
