Here comes another sneaker from the Puma by Mihara Spring 2009 Collection. The Japanese designer has always something special in mind and the MY-41 comes with a very interesting design on the heel and especially the sole, with layers seeming to go into each other. We like the colorway and especially the matching laces. Otherwise its really a matter of style, as we are sure it is not for everyone. Via Kenlu.
"The former design of badminton great Jack Purcell, Converse gave a new life into the staple classic with its Jack Purcell Match-Point back in 1976. The traditional JP is slimmed down with the most notable change in the usual chunky rubber toebox. The Match-Point toebox is much slimmer and integrated closely with the shoe’s upper. Pleats-Pleats is a sofa designed by Daniel Hedner from Imaginary Office. Clothed polyurethane foam is woven around a white powder coated steel pipe frame.

"Just in time for warmer weather and Spring months, Bape unveils new eye catching colorways for their Bape Skull Sta. The familiar design of the shoes will remind you of Adidas shell toes with obvious twists. The latest pair features a vivid neon green base supporting the lightning bolt yellow trademark Bape star on the side. The other colors include bright Pink with Neon green star and finally hot orange. The shoes come equipped with a white toe and vintage fat laces."
An interesting release from the Neighborhood camp as we see them include a pencil set in their collection. A sense of irony in this product based on the notion that pencil and even pen use is largely dead with the pencils featured in an all black aesthetic. Something cool to mix things up from Neighborhood though, but hard to justify the re-seller price of ¥2,625 JPY (approximately $27 USD) which can be seen over at Cliffedge.
"Every season there is this one stand-out model of crazy sunglasses that make their rounds. Jeremy Scott is usually good for a surprise on that end, but was reasonably subtle this season. Dior Homme presents the “Blow” sunglasses this season. By now you have probably seen them several times already in some fashion shoots and runway shows. Miller One Second Super Bowl Ad
Extras that didn't make the cut
MillerCoors aired a one-second Super Bowl XLIII ad on February 1, 2009. The ad was for their Miller High Life brand, which has built its entire campaign on having a quality beer for a low price. The commercial featured the High Life Delivery Man, actor Windell Middlebrooks, who has remained a prominent figure in Miller High Life commercials since 2007.
The latest luxurious and comfortable sofa called the “Athena” which features an integrated computer. By using this sofa you can take care of media application from reading email, watching TV and connected with the multi-room system from the comfort of the chair.

The uncertainty is one of the most powerful mechanisms of ROJO. We do not want to refer here to the intrinsic quality of the artistic creation of not being capable of giving a convincing definition on itself, but to the capacity of the work of printed art to recall in its spectator a multitude of questions, many more of those that its own creator supposed.
It is a mechanism that allows ROJO to spread a sensation that at the same time turns out to be vague, blurry and worrying. Any publishing practice has implicit this consideration: few ones are those who do not understand ROJO as a communication act, a flow among two subjects. It is not necessary to clarify that both, magazine and spectator, are equally active and together they compose the publishing work and everything that wraps to this one, on the base of its accumulated experiences and so many other variables more. The uncertainty to which we refer is the one that stamps on the work on this context an only value: the aptitude to initiate a dialogue of questions to present, of waving whom one finds contemplating it, and sometimes ... to blush.
This quality is probably one of that more surprises in this project. Its content, the links between collaborations that compose its particular universe, are specially worrying matters for the extent of impressions that generate among its spectators. Creativity of here, there and from overseas also, but simultaneously out of the space and the time, compiled under criteria of non-temporality giving to every ROJO project an everlasting prominent condition. Cured creativity, with a good load of ambiguous and undefinable values, creativity that presents all its possible faces, staying its reading, its interpretation, to the disposition of our capacities and (though it is hard to be recognized) our desires.

James Jean has produced a series of illustrations for “Poor Thing Grenache” wine bottles, in addition to a couple of other brands, which you can see here.
Toy2r has teamed up with Pop Surrealist and Anatomy Illustrator Jason Freeny to offer a limited edition print of the inner workings of the iconic Bear Qee. The 13"x16" print is a limited edition of 100 pieces and will run $59 through the link above. And there are rumors that an actual Qee of this design might just be in production.
Very cool. Now anyone with an iPhone can snap a photo of a billboard, poster or any document and an in-phone image processor will cross reference the typeface with the MyFonts database.
Marc Newson designed this form for an installation at the Fondation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain. The individual elements were displayed connected together in the form of a three-quarter sphere. Only 50 examples of this chair were produced; its title Bucky was taken from the newly discovered molecule, the Buckminsterfullerene, named for its resemblance to Buckminster Fuller’s geodesic structures.

The Canova dual screen LCD laptop from V12 Design is slowly exiting the concept phase and could actually be headed for the all-important production stage of development.
The boost in street cred is due entirely to the fact that V12 Design has hooked up with an American firm called Estari to help with development. Estari, as you may know, is in the business of developing all sorts of dual screen computer things, including a 2-VU dual screen laptop from way back in 2007.
Today, in 2009, their web page has changed to reflect the news that they've teamed up with V12 Design to make a laptop that looks like what the OLPC XO-2 would look like if it mated with a Lambo.
Austrian designer Thomas Feichtner has completed an interior called The Pixel Hirschgasse for the Pixelhotel project in Linz, Austria.
Pixelhotel is a Linz 2009 European Capital of Culture project, which converts individual rooms throughout the city into unconventional hotel rooms for the year. The Pixel Hirschgasse is located at the Simone Feichtner Gallery.
Feichtner designed furniture and artwork for the project, including Mayas Bed (above).

"Sometimes crazy gadgets and knick-knacks come from surprising places — take Michael Jackson's collection, for instance. He's auctioning off a bunch of movie props and expensive toys this April, including the robotic head, pictured above, that brought robo-Michael to life in his singer-turned-superhero movie, Moonwalker. Never saw it? It's worth a rental (watched in fast forward), if only to see him turn into a car as he flees from Joe Pesci's stormtroopers. The head opens up and flashes a bunch of lights at the press of a button and will start at $2,000 to $3,000.
The car from Moonwalker isn't heading for the auction block, but a $5,000 golf cart with a hood decal featuring Jackson as Peter Pan is. There's also a similarly priced and less creepy Sega flight simulator, Edward's scissor-hands, a fortune-telling automaton, and a $160,000 limo with a regal interior designed by Jackson himself."
